Jones additionally clarified that the gesture was entirely accidental, occurring amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I simply put up the wrong finger,” he remarked. “It was inadvertently done. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can. However, it got resolved pretty quick.”

- Carolina Panthers proprietor Tepper was fined $300,000 for throwing a drink at spectators in January 2024.
